Flying with Bangtan: Concert Experience 3-29-17

The BTS Wings Tour has now come to an end. Starting off in Seoul, South Korea on the 18th of February and concluding on the second of June in Sapporo, Japan. For a total of 32 concerts, seven boys joined by one heart traveled the world. The whole tour was an undoubted success, each concert date was sold out and filled with ecstatic A.R.M.Y.s cheering and singing.

I was blessed to be able to attend such an amazing event. My (fabulous and amazing) mother took me and three friends to the Chicago concert. The summer before, I was lucky enough to make it to the 2016 KCon NY where BTS was performing. For Leigh, Nori, and I, this was our second time being at a BTS performance. For Anne, this was her first K-Pop concert in general. Even so, we were all over joyed with the thought of being able to be in their presence, for the second time, or the first.

...

Have you ever had to buy tickets for five or more people... all in a row? It is nothing but stressful with a side helping of expensive.

For this concert, like all the others, my mother and I were put in charge of the ticket purchasing. Everyone going chipped in their fair share, so all of the money was gathered and ready. Now we faced the wrath of time itself. My mom and I both had our computers out so that one of us may stumble upon a set of five.

We refreshed and refreshed... and refreshed...

At one point we started to loose hope, and by golly I am sure glad we didn't. When the sale rush seemed to end we tried once more and... POOF! There they are. Five, perfectly aligned seats on the side of the stage. They weren't the placing we anticipated or planned to pay for but we definitely weren't letting those precious seats slip away.

...

A view of the stage from our seats \^-^/

Once we got to the venue, we realized just how amazing the seats were. (We would have felt content even if the seats were sub-par, being there was enough) We settled in and tried (and failed) to calm ourselves before the storm.

It was quite nice to hear all of the fans singing, cheering, and screaming before the concert. Deafening... but nice.

While waiting for the concert to start, my friends and I managed to push aside our normally antisocial ways and talk to the girls in front of us. They were really sweet, we all exchanged names and fangirl emotions while comforting each other.

Sometimes the way A.R.M.Y.s connect even though we have never met really makes me happy. We take each other in as friends and sometimes even as family. I find that really comforting and beautiful.

...

The concert began... and... OH. MY. GOSH.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I SEEM TO BE DEPRIVED OF WORDS TO EXPLAIN HOW FANTASTIC AND MEMORABLE IT ALL WAS. HOLY GUACAMOLE.

I never sat down once during the performance and was up screaming, fangirling, singing, and (awkwardly) dancing. (CYPHER GOT ME HYPE.)

Their charisma on stage was fantastic. The dancing was flawless. Their voices were on point and their presence with the fans was so loving and caring. It makes me happy to know that they adore and respect us as much as we do them.

The fact that they took time out of their busy scheduals to learn bits of English (and other languages for that matter) was really touching. They seemed so happy to be with us and they all conveyed so much emotion through their words and music.

The fans also did their fair share of showing support and love. Some busy bees passed out news talking about the rainbow ocean, light stick waves, and chants. Everything turned out beautifully.

One of the chants that all the fans did (unprompted) was scream "we love you" when Namjoon was singing the line "I wish I could love myself" in Reflection. It was very emotional for each of the solo's. They all got so much love and respect.

The rainbow ocean was stunning. To be part of such a

meaningful and beautiful moment was so memorable. The feeling was so lovely and hard to put into words. I was also lucky to be part of the purple section of lights. 1. It's my favorite color 2. "Purple means to love and trust each other" ~Taehyung

Everything was amazing and felt dreamlike. I will never forget it for as long as I live. One day I will look on these memories and think to myself, "that truely was the most beautiful moment in life."

Thank you Bangtan for being such an important part of my life. You have made an impression on me and changed me as a person... making me better. You have brought me and some of my closest friends together. You give me things to look forward to and you have given me a second family... an escape when things can get hard. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
